It is essential that you provide your reptile with proper levels of UVA/UVB in order for them to produce the correct levels of calcium. If this is not provided then they can become calcium deficient which will result in a myriad of different health problems. One rule of thumb for the correct size of tube to get is that the bulb should be no less than 1ft shorter than the tank, for example; a 3ft tank should have a 24" bulb.
